Staying in Atlanta and driving it in for the game. Really praying it's not a night game or it's going to be rough going... flying back Sunday for be ready for kids' school.

Anyone buy game tix yet?
A noontime kickoff would be very brutal for the team though, both in terms of jet lag and weather...
You think teams from back east that come to Berkeley enjoy 7PM kickoffs?
It's a valid question, but I would argue having to get up and prep for a Noon et game (9a body clock) is harder than a college kid staying up until 1a body clock...

I suspect there will many in the future, but how many times have we played an East Coast team in an evening game at Memorial?

Not quite an East Coast team, but close and it was played under the lights

Wow. I was there and don't remember it being at night.
Still, we can come up with one, sort of, 17 years ago?
cal v ole miss was at night in 2017.

Though Mississippi is not on the East Coast. Still it was a 9:30 pm kickoff CT, definitely late for them by the 4th quarter. Our game there the year before was 9am PT (an 11 am kickoff???).

Eugene Asante is really looking forward to the Cal rematch, and still mad at Ott. Skip to 14:10 mark, goes until about 20:30.

One of their running backs is in critical condition after being shot a couple days ago in Sarasota, FL. He rushed for over 1,000 yards two years ago and not as many last year but was their return man. His brother was murdered, and two others also shot. Unbelievably tragic and just a couple months before the season.

I think they are portal players, transferred in from Univ of South FL. Tragic. Good players.

Check out Lake Martin. It's a gorgeous lake just 35 minutes north of Auburn. It has a lot of options for rentals.

I am thinking of going to the game. Where do people usually stay for games there? Not much in terms of hotels available for that weekend. Is Columbus, GA seems to be a close enough option. Where are you guys flying in to? What's there to do in that area for the weekend?
Maybe most of the people here have already been contacted, but apparently the University is going to do a similar thing to what they did for Notre Dame...a booster charter etc. for the game...

Do we think Auburn or FSU is going to attract more Cal fans traveling? Curious if ticket allotments for either are known yet.

Try to stay in Auburn or Opelika. Drive from ATL isn't bad at all - will probably take you longer to get to your rental car after landing at ATL - chicken fingerz at Zaxby's on the way aren't too shabby. On your drive in (near the Kia plant in West Point, GA), you might see some remnants from the tornado last year. Puts a lot in perspective if you haven't seen what a tornado (EF-3) can do.

Once you arrive, vanilla lemonade at Toomer's. Repeat each day. Book a reservation for dinner at Acre. It's a great town - super friendly people. Beautiful campus.

Belated thanks for all the quality recommendations here. Acre was especially excellent.
