I watched the first half of that game. At one point Garbers was something like 9 for 10 passing, but most of those passes were of the short or screen or dump-off variety. I did not see the rest of the game when the roof caved in on the San Antonio team.

I hope Garbers ends in a good place because he was a great Cal Bear.

Go Bears!

He is in his mid-20s, with a Cal degree paid for by football, signed an NFL contract and has now made at least $1 million playing pro football not counting what he made this year leading his team to the UFL championship game. Sure, could be better, even a lot better but I would call that a good place.

Garbers' Cal win on the road in the SEC against Ole Miss. was pretty sweet!

I seem to recall a very high win percentage while he was healthy and playing in games, along with a crazy loss percentage during games he did not play in due to injury.

My favorite Garbers play was at the Coliseum watching the whole USC defense "Chase" Garbers the whole way into the end zone for something like an 80 yard touchdown run, which of course he USC refs were going to call back, for something/anything, which they did. But man, what a phenomenal play, even if the Trojan refs did call it back!
