Makes me feel badly because it seems the best times in our program's history are behind us. Even if we managed to beat an ACC team that was ranked #3 in the country at Memorial in triple OT, the experience still would not measure up because it wouldn't have the emotion of our one-sided rivalry with USC in football.

So many guys who would win All Pac-10 honors in their career played in that game. Two eventual Heisman Trophy winners and neither was the best player on the field until Rodgers got injured. And then we still pulled it out after AR was out.

Makonnen's go-ahead TD catch from Robertson in the first OT was a beautiful play. What a game. Happy I got to be at that one. Regret missing the 2004 game but at the time I was glad to not be in the sea of overjoyed Trojan fans.
