Most of us remember that Jaron's ('25 QB commit) recruiting really started to blow up shortly before he committed to us because of his performance dominating the Elite 11 camp where we saw how he stacked up against the best HS passers in the country.

He chose to commit to Cal and all 3 of his finalists were schools that had showed him love and been in constant communication long before he burst onto the national radar. First, you've gotta love that he's level headed and rewards loyalty and that he and his family can see through the recruiting BS. Second, that's the benefit of consistency and early identification of talent from the staff and it landed us our top QB target of the cycle.

Anyway I was curious about that performance, and in lieu of other news until camp really starts rolling, so I looked up what they said about him and here's some blurbs and articles of what I found:

First an overview of the events and process: MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. The Elite 11 Finals wrapped up on Thursday with one final session at Mira Costa High. After the 20 quarterbacks went through a two-hour workout Tuesday night and competed in both the Vici's Pro Day and the Panini Accuracy Challenge on Wednesday night, they all got 15 minutes to show what they could do in a 7-on-7 game, which utilized the Elite 11 playbook. Below is the final ranking of the signal callers for 247Sports after taking all three days of action into account.

11. JARON KEAWE SAGAPOLUTELE

Top247: No. 27 QB

We'll be honest. Some of us had Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele dead last in our personal rankings when he arrived. So, the southpaw out of Hawaii definitely won some people over. Sagapolutele was the champion of the annual 'Rail Shot Challenge' on Tuesday. He was solid Wednesday, but really sent a message during his 7-on-7 game on Friday when he ripped dart after dart. Sagapolutele is going to need some seasoning, but he could be well worth the wait for someone as he's got the raw traits you want at the position.

Day 1 recap:
Each quarterback brought their best to the table, but a few stood out from the rest. Tavien St. Clair, Keelon Russell, Husan Longstreet, and Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele were among those who wowed everyone on the first day. Sagapolutele is a dynamic lefty who can consistently deliver accurate passes. Day 1 superlatives:
We saw Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele win the Rail Shot Challenge, displaying his ball placement and velocity prowess. It was amazing to see. He took control and never looked back.
