Okay, Message Board Geniuses! The new season is around the corner, and we all need some boning up on our message board skills. As such, time to warm up by making some predictions:

1. How many quarters into the season before the first post calling for Wilcox to be fired?

2. How many quarters into the season before the first post calling for the backup quarterback to start?

3. Which coordinator will have more posts dedicated to their future firing?

4. How many games into the season before someone posts the conspiracy theory that ACC refs are out to punish Cal?

5. What will be the game with the biggest meltdown after?

6. What will be the game with the biggest irrational optimism after?

7. What will be the biggest complaint about the game day experience?

1. I give Wilcox two quarters after a slow start against UC Davis.

2. I give the starting qb 6 quarters, until we play at Auburn.

3. I think more people will call for Sirmon's head, as a lot of people already want him fired.

4. I'm going to go with the FSU game for the referee conspiracy.

5. I'm thinking the biggest meltdown is after NC state. NC state is the last game of the most challenging portion of the schedule, and as such fan temperament starts in a bad place.

6. After Stanford, I think Cal rebounds in the second half of the season, and a win over Stanford always gets people thinking with emotion.

7. Game times, I think espn uses the late night window for all the bigger matchups, and people complain about the late kickoffs. Miami, NC state, Syracuse, Oregon state, and Stanford all start at night.

Funny, I hope I'm not getting too old, but this is the first season I'm just going to enjoy watching our team play, and let the results "flow".

So, while of course I want us to win every game, I'm going to more stoically see any losses or imperfections in execution than in the past. A little bit more "Zen" than in the past, perhaps, while still caring about every detail.

Go Bears!

Pretty similar to how I see it. Of course, we're all hoping this year will be different, but if it's more of the same under Wilcox, we're likely looking at 2-5 after NC State. Then 6-6 to end the season given the soft backend of the schedule.

1.) 1 quarter as the aggies will get a field goal
2.) That all depends on who's starting. If Rogers 2. If Mendoza probably 7.
3.) easy that's Sirmon
4.) game 1 at fsu
5.) florida state
6.) auburn
7.) the old blues / west side being the cal side now

Miami sadly is a lame game day experience...fortunately if you add a few extra days you can do a lot of neat stuff around the game.
