Here's what Wilcox should say in the first meeting of the season like this: "Every one of you listen very carefully, because this is something that each of you must do to win: Every single action that you take between now and the end of the season is a win-lose moment. Every practice play or practice exercise. Every rep in the weight room. Every choice at the food table. Every moment like this in meetings. Take every single thing you do as the choice to win or lose that opportunity. Every play that you're on the field is a win-lose proposition. Every play you're not on the field. Every word spoken by a coach or professor. Every action you take on campus, off campus. That's how you're going to win and that's how we're going to win together. Same goes for coaches and staff. I'm asking you to think about yourself in a new, better way. Now, get outta here and kick some ass."
