a friend of mine played for the 49ers and has a Super Bowl ring from Super Bowl XXIII ( 1989 )
I was out with him last night and asked him if winning a Super Bowl was the pinnacle of his sports success and what he'll remember most when his life is coming to an end or was it something from high school or college.
I was curious because he didnt get in the game. Not one snap.
Is it a bigger deal and more thrilling just to be on a SB winning team and part of all that or is it a bigger deal to have a more meaningful impact on a lessor level?
He said that what had the most impact and lasting feeling was the standing ovation he got at the end of season high school football banquet from the team, coaches and parents. He said he's been chasing that dragon for the last 40 years.
Although he did go on to say that the super bowl was much more valuable. Whenever we go out, his SB ring is like a golden ticket. incredible the kinda access that gets him.
