Espn channels and ABC are blocked due to contract disputed. SUC game toast. Could affect the Cal game next week. Also sec network etc. Disney wants more money same as their parks. I dont blame directv. The greed needs to stop. WaltDisney must be rolling over in his grave. I can listen to the radio or do something else. They pray on fans. I hope it all comes crashing down.. College football is pretty much ruined by these *******s and the ncaa etc

Possibly. But Directv gets into these disputes every year. 2-3 weeks ago, they blocked PBS. Before that it was CBS. Now ABC. I'm tired of it. I'm watching via ESPN app on my tv. I think I'm done with DirecTv.

Get a trial of some other streaming TV service (YouTubeTV, Hulu, Fubo, Sling) with the ESPN channels until it's resolved. You'll probably get a free trial to start.

There is an Auburn game viewing party here at the 562 Grill in Long Beach with the local alumni group but who knows if they might get blacked out!?
Bring back bottled beer and cigars at CMS. Should get us back in the Rose Bowl!

Yeah, Directv gets into these disputes frequently, more so than other such services. I have to think it's at least as much Directv's fault as it is greed by other parties. I dropped Directv a few years ago due to these issues, the lack of the Pac-12 network and the outrageously high prices I was paying. I went to YouTube TV and I'm happy with it. I did have to watch last Saturday's game on the ESPN app, but that worked smoothly as well.

Absolutely not. Davis was only available on ESPN+ because it was a streaming only game. Any game on 'linear' channels like ESPN, ESPNU, ACCN, etc is only available with your TV provider login and only if you TV provider subscription contains those channels.

Thanks! That's what I thought but wanted to be sure. I guess I may have to watch on some alternative channels if this dispute continues.

I did watch the $C-LSU game on the espn app and saw they offered an option to watch via espn+. I think they have the right to simulcast ABC games.

No. You will get ABC broadcasts and anything that was streaming-only (including ACCNx and SECN+ games). But anything that was shown on a regular ESPN channel (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews) requires a TV subscription that gets those channels.

Thanks for the link. It's a little consolation for possibly the headache of trying to find the game another way

I did that yesterday. The link got me to log into my account but did little else. Had to chat with customer service to get the credit. They sure make it hard to get the credit....

I switched from cable to YouTube TV a year ago, and I haven't looked back. I watch almost exclusively through my Apple TV box, so it's definitely possible (and quite easy).

I also love the ability to download recordings to my iPad when I travel.

Dude, ESPN/ABC have the rights to all ACC games. DirecTV or no DirecTV, Disney is getting money from cable subs and paying money to the ACC.

waaay of topic, and fwiw (nada) far and away my pick of the disney litter is ms abigail..

> Having grown up in a family of filmmakers, Abigail turned to documentaries when inspired to tell the story of a brave group of women who used nonviolent protests and sex strikes to bring an end to Liberia's long civil war. She and renowned filmmaker Gini Reticker made the widely acclaimed Pray the Devil Back to Hell, which is broadly credited with highlighting the achievements of Leymah Gbowee, who received a Nobel Peace Prize in 2011. Abigail and Gini went on to found Fork Films, which is known for making and funding high profile, critically acclaimed documentaries that are seen on PBS, Netflix, HBO and other major outlets.

Interesting. They have jacked up the credit to $30 and are pointing folks to Fubo or Sling.

That's why we're offering you a $30 bill credit and making it easy to find alternative ways to watch this weekend's college football games, Monday Night Football, and most U.S. Open matches. For alternative ways to watch, DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM and U-verse customers can visit:

Fubo TV to start your 7-day free trial from Fubo, either for their Pro or Elite with Sports Plus plans, and $30 off the first month after that.

Sling.com to get the Sling Orange service for $30 a month.

DTV is doing this out of desperation, in the hope that football-loving fans won't just dump DTV and switch to YouTube TV, or Hulu + Live TV, or even cable.

DTV used to have NFL Sunday Ticket to hold over all the sports fans' heads, but not anymore. Right now all they have are all the RSNs in all regions, but RSNs as a model are fading. Already you're seeing some MLB and NBA teams pulling their local rights away from the RSNs and offering them direct.

When Fox offered $0 for us to go to the B1G, ESPN pulled us into the ACC paying them $40 million a year for us and throwing in paying traveling expenses for ACC teams traveling to California.
