The guy that flagged us on the FG had been a hired ref at Notre Dame's spring intrasquad match. (I had looked it up.)

It's good to pay people for private off-season stuff so when it counts they pay you back. (I'm sure he appreciated the extra paycheck!)

Here goes: Many of us at Cal have served. In fact Cal is the original ROTC institution. We produced Doolittle, Nimitz, and the ****ing nuclear bomb and everything and person who made its development possible so good luck winning ww2 with a bunch of fat southern red neck Trumpers. And on that note California as a state has lost a lot more per capita in war. And has had a lot more serve per capita than Alabama and pretty much any other state for that matter.
Athletics are supposed to be a place to get reprieve from stupid bs politics but modern right wing southerners insist on polluting athletics with politics. And just like when they (the sec) say they are superior to us despite being 3-7 against us in the last 10 games; they just assault with a constant barrage of bull**** non factual incoherent bs.
I'm glad we don't play anymore of these idiots anytime soon beyond florida state. They are what Hillary Clinton said they were. And so I call it like it is.

Auburn sold out to block the punt. They had more rushers than we had blockers since they didn't have a return man (11 vs 10 since the kicker can't block for himself).

Sure, in an ideal world you'd go for a perfect placement punt....but in that case it quickly became "do whatever it takes to get this punt off period."

I guess I've run into too many walls while on Cal football bandwagons. I'm glad we won the first two games. But the only thing that keeps me hopeful for a special season is that we've won with a lot of injured starters. I'm hopeful that we have a special team when we have a healthy team. I'm too old to think this coaching staff will become any better than they've shown over their careers but good players can make up for that. Fingers crossed.
