Checked online. Tickets on our official site are still fairly expensive. Why not drop by 25-40 percent or so and get 5-15k more to the game?

I've been griping about this for years. Why increase prices when you cant sell the tickets?

Ask the business school professor who's running the university. He'll tell you he's looking into it.

I'm beginning to feel like Lyons is too nice a guy and is the type who wants to make everyone happy. That's not what's needed here dude
Back in the day when I was at Haas we did did a ticket pricing presentation for our group marketing project. He's welcome to use it if I can dig it up. I'll wait for the PM 🤣bearsandgiants said:golden sloth said:oregoncalbear said:

Firing the people who need to be fired RIGHT NOW is not practical. With Knowlton, obviously there is the contract issue. With the other people and with Knowlton, it's that cleaning house mid season is problematic because you won't fill those jobs immediately. If things don't change in the offseason, I might agree with you.

I don't feel like firings necessarily need to happen right now. But I do think there needs to be accountability (something that doesn't seem to exist in the ADs office). Lyons needs to say X Y Z needs to happen, if it doesn't, you're gone. I'm doubt that's happening because you're still not seeing any urgency from knowlton, Markeisha, etc. They need to understand that their cushy job is on the line.

I believe we are the only country that does dynamic pricing. Meaning, the higher demand for a specific section, the higher the prices go. Ticket prices will always start high though. I would imagine our ticket prices are on an upward trend because we won last week and Ticketmaster, SeatGeek or StubHub price it high.WalterSobchak said:Back in the day when I was at Haas we did did a ticket pricing presentation for our group marketing project. Let's be real - the price of our tickets is not a barrier to anyone wanting to go to the game. If we let everyone in for free tonight - would we sell out? Best case, we get an extra 5k in the stands - but still be laughably short of 50k. If we develope a consistently competitive team the seats will sell.
For the record, I just looked up the prices on Calbears.com and the Miami game has tickets for around $50 in the end zone to $110 in the sections near the middle of the field. Nothing close to $15 a ticket.MathTeacherMike said:
lol - I just spent $15 to get in the door and I'm currently sitting in seats with seatbacks. Comparing A's tickets to big-time (ACC?) college football is a joke. Good seats for a Cal game is peanuts compared to other "real" football schools. Going to a Cal game is cheaper than going to a Movie.
