The Florida St. game today, is now showing on ESPN. They are playing Memphis. Memphis now up 3 - 0.

Florida St, now 0 and 2, plays Cal next week at Florida State. I beelieve they were fairly highly rated coming into this season. We need to beat them to be assured of being on College GameDay in two weeks versus Miami. I guess I'd prefer Florida St. to win today to avoid going zero and four if they lose to Cal at home.

don't worry, even if Florida st loses by 50 today, they will somehow put it together next week just for us.

Yikes! This is one that should stay forgotten. The "tomahawk chop" is ridiculously racist!

Well, you can tell that to both the Atlanta Braves and the FSU Seminoles.

Kind of a tiresome sing-song, like the damned chant.
The irony is people talk about racial prejudice while preserving regional prejudices and stereotypes.

I am hoping to dampen the negative effects the chant has on us and our players.
FSU chant = $C dirge
"Just win, baby."

Umm, the tomahawk chop is racist by definition. Southerners still engage in it. How is pointing out that they're engaging in racism "preserving regional prejudices and stereotypes?" Do you not understand that this literally still happens in the South or are you just gaslighting?

My, but you do seem excited.
We are playing in a hostile environment.
I just want us to win and do not want the chant to earworm into our team's head.
If it should do so, then change it to a positive.
Not looking for a social justice argument.
Go Bears.
"Just win, baby."

Go Bears.

If decrying racism and not wanting Cal to participate in said racism is social justice, then I should hope all Cal alumni support social justice. Unfortunately, it looks like there are some Cal alumni who seem to (at a minimum) turn a blind eye to racism, thereby enabling it.

The tomahawk chop is racist, period. There is no defending it.

Obviously, there are Bears whose virtues are far beyond the grasp of ordinary Bears, such as myself.

If you mean we're opposed to racism, absolutely! If that's beyond your grasp, that's a you problem.
