Seriously, in all my 40+ years of being a Cal fan, this is far and away the funniest thing we've ever done around Cal Football (Cal Basketball will always have "Victoria!" and a few other hilarious antics... ).

Oh, you're absolutely right! I was there; how could I forget that one?!? That was excellent! Actually, I kind of take back my implication that our football fans have never done some hilarious stuff. I'm just thinking of the Big Game pranks and such.

One of my favorites (and it wasn't 100% what we did, by any means) was the Big Game down there where they had chain link fences in front of our rooting section, but the Stanfurdites were allowed to go onto the field after the game. Then some of them came close to the fence and sort of started taunting us, whereupon our rooters tore down the fence and ended up going on the field. What was funny was all the Stanfurdites scurrying away -- almost as if they were running for their very lives -- like they were afraid to get beat up by those "tough public school guys".

In that old Furd stadium the exits were so small and always backed up it made it easy to sit or stand there after the game and wait a bit. Well then the Furdies ran over towards the fence line and started throwing **** at us. My dear dad nearly got whacked in the head with a water bottle. My even keeled gentle human Dad was pissed. He said why do they makes us feel like caged animals with major security in front of us while they run all over the field and throw stuff at us.

I am very happy to report that on that day when the fences came down, my Dad did NOT hesitate to storm the field with us. I never thought I'd say that, I never thought I see my Dad storm the field, but it happened that day.

Was that the Big Game where we tore down the goal posts after we lost and somebody tried to bring one of them back to Berkeley but gave up and left it lying next to 880?

I made the mistake of wandering into some FSU forums and seeing the responses to the Cal trolling.

i tried educating some folks that about the decolonization meme being wrong on every level. I used to think Trojans and Ducks fans were bricks, but FSU found a whole new bottom below them. ZERO chance FSU fans figure out some of our memes are more self-owning than trolling FSU.

I must not have been following Cal MBB closely when this happened. What was this prank?

Before the game serve the coach with a fake Temporary Restraining Order prohibiting them from using the culturally offensive team name and preventing the mascots Osceola and Renegade from taking to the field or sideline. Have the bogus order shown on the Jumbotron.

A fantastic recap! I was sitting in the SE corner about 1/3 of the way up. The printed explanation sheets had somehow made it to us. We were all chanting... "Vic-TOOOOOO-ria! Vic-TOOOOOO-ria!" He was a really good player for U$C, too, who had scorched us, in the past.

Good for him, the way he handled it with class. He could do seminars, advising people how to respond in situations like that. Lead with his story.

You got the location of Seminoles partially right. You forgot they have about 20,000 members imprisoned in the open air prison aka reservation in Oklahoma.

Medicine doesn't come from the SouthWest US, it comes from the Chihuahuan Desert. The tribes of the Chichimeca shared it with Northern tribes (tribes in the US are all known as Northern tribes), but the medicine and the knowledge of how to use it doesnt come from Northern tribes.

unless you were Native from the South you wouldnt really know this. The cultural appropriation does come from non-Native folks in the US, however.

To be fair, unless you were a tribal Native American medicine person then you would not know. I am, which is why I know, but I didn't share most of the info because we don't share that with outsiders.
