What a fantastic full game breakdown of Florida States last game. These guys do a great job actually explaining what FSU was suppose to do vs what they did. Some of it is pretty funny. I'm actually looking forward to next week when they break down our game. Anyway if you got time to spare, it's a very good watch.

Florida state defensively seems almost exclusively man defense and they do a lot of switching. Which is where their issues seem to come defensively. They're very stout up front. Their offensive line is a mess. What I really liked in this video is the way these guys explain what the FSU back 7 does in coverage. #5 and #6 on their defensive line are pretty good, they will need special attention imho.

They go REALLY in depth. Wow.

I think the team should feel disrespected going in as the underdog.

The team has to earn respect, which they can do by winning decent teams. Although they currently have a 3-0 record, they haven't really beaten a good team.

Auburn is probably at least a decent team (though we may have had the fortune to play them before the QB switch).

If we win against an 0-4 team then do we get respect?

I mean, I get it, Cal is 3-0, and we all seem to be enjoying it. But its early in the season, and it's easy to see fool's gold. We beat an FCS team, an Auburn team that will probably end up around 500, and a bad San Diego state team starting their backup quarterback.

Nonetheless, you play the teams on your schedule and you might as well enjoy the wins!

Physically Florida State is as good as anybody we'll face, that includes Clemson. Their issues seem to be between the ears. They make a lot of mental mistakes on the offensive line and the defensive backfield. I think their Running back is very physical but doesn't seem to make a lot of people miss. Offensively right now it looks like Florida State relies on Inside and Outside Zone plays along with Counter runs (which they aren't very good running atm) and they will throw in a few grab bag type plays in their first 20 plays and all those plays basically get recycled the rest of the game. I hope we're cognizant on WR screens and RB screens and the deep shots they take.

Defensively FSU is solid and so I think it's going to be a relatively low scoring affair, which will make turnovers likely the decider in this game. Saying that, Cal can't play scared we need to get their defense running sideline to sideline.
