Cal - San Diego State ended up at 17th for the week with 938k viewers.
A couple of footnotes I find interesting:
- This was ESPN's worst ratings of the weekend for college football, but I chalk that up to the viewing window. Please note, that is ESPN and not ESPN2.
- The game outdrew Auburn - New Mexico.
- This number is on par with previous games in the 10:30 est kickoff timeslots. Arizona St - Miss. State had 954k in week 2, and New Mexico - Arizona had 953k.
- Only four ACC games had ratings (games on the ACC and SEC networks don't have Nielsen compile their ratings). Florida State - Memphis led with 1.59 million viewers, Pitt - WV had 1.15 mill, and Ole Miss - Wake only had 419k but was broadcast on the CW.
- The networks have really gone in hard on College football. Between CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox there were 10 Network broadcasts with 9 being on Saturday.
- FS1 is really a college football graveyard. They air games, but the numbers suggest they get a fraction the viewers of ESPN on similar matchups. As mentioned earlier Cal-SDSU was ESPN's worst rating at 938k. FS1's best rating was Troy - Iowa at 446k.
