I want to start a thread and keep track of the progress toward selling out the Cal vs. Miami game. Now that we have ESPN College GameDay coming, it's imperative we sellout Memorial and create a nighttime electric atmosphere.

I have friends reaching out after hearing the GameDay news who aren't dedicated fans, but are now thinking of attending. Let's pound the pavement and fill up the stands to capacity!

I will be there. We not only need to sellout but we need to be 15-20k strong for gameday in the AM. Hopefully the Bay rallies around us

Gotta fill the stadium, even if every ticket is $1. Do not mess this up cal

It will sell out. Come on! Students like the late start. The campus should be on fire all week even if you are not a football fan per se. Problems will be typical for visitors - hotels? transportation? Parking? Where to tailgate? The stadium and community is not designed to host such an event. Do you trust Berkeley and Cal to make some major accommodations for this??
Bring back bottled beer and cigars at CMS. Should get us back in the Rose Bowl!

It won't sell out, but will look pretty full, around 48k, with the student section packed to the brim.

I agree. Expect about 45,000 in attendance for the game.

The problem may be the loooong delay between early morning wake up for Game Day and then 730 kick off. I for one cannot do both at 74 years old and a lifelong fan. Students may be the same - party Friday night. recover, and then party again before kick off? I am hopeful but I would need someone to prop me up! TV with better and easier coverage might be an alternative for some.

I love Cal but if we host Gameday and can't fill 3/4 of our stadium that would not be good. Utah -AZ was late last night but still sold out.

If you must prioritize, the game itself is the answer.

Also, many of us recall when opposing out-of-state and even P12 teams overran the Cal visitors sections and bought Cal tickets off Stubhub. Northwestern, Ohio State, Texas, Ucla, USC, Oregon come to mind. How will Miami travel? I think good for the Bay Area in general. Years ago, for the Emerald Bowl in SF, Miami showed up - albeit it was Christmas time.

My current estimate on sold seats for Miami is around 45,000 based on the ato seat availability map.
I've been trying to find the root url for the map to get actual numbers but it's not readily available.
Given the tarps (boo!), the capacity is around 54,000
We need to get the rest of these seats sold. Still about 10k open seats remaining.

I'm likely to visit for the ESPN show.

I am very unlikely to go to the game. Something about starting during my kids bedtime is unpalatable. Maybe if I can get them an overnight at the "grandma hotel"

But *******, the start times are brutal. I LOVE 2-4 start times. Finishing at night is magical. Starting at night is grotesque.
