Garbage playcalling.

3rd and long put in Rogers.. cool

Going for two the second time let's run a useless 2nd QB...cool

Let's go for a 2-point conversion on the first PAT. Cool.

It was as much on the offense and O-line as it was on the coaches. Outschemed and outcoached.
If you were a promising high school or college offensive lineman, would you want to play for Wilcox and Bloesch?
After our last touchdown, it's clear Bloesch is not holding us back
Really? You think he is putting our OL player in a position to be drafted into the NFL?
He is not the reason why we turned the offense off and tried a kick
Yep. We went absolutely all-in on going up by one point with 2 minutes to go.

Doesn't matter who is coaching when your HC pulls that out of his hat.

Literally the only time in history when I watched a kick without a care about making it. Its amusing and poetic that he missed. But what if he doesnt? What is the BEST outcome?

How any coach other than Wilcox is to blame for anything is cope

Ok so this is why I turned off the TV before the kick.

Cause I knew it was a no win situation. Miss the kick, we lose. Make the kick, we lose but in even more excruciating fashion.

The defense played well and kept us in the game.
Uh huh. I've seen far too many cal games to fall for that one.

Really? After the kick, the Cal defense forced Pitt to punt after a 3 and out.

Yep trying to run clock in that situation is completely comparable to a situation in which you're in a do or die (all 4 downs) situation to get into FG range.

To imply otherwise shows you may not know much about football. Nice talking to you. Enjoy the rest of the season.

*ignore*

Uh, I'm talking about the defense, criticize the offensive play calling until you turn blue, I don't care.

Uh, Ducky is talking about Pitt's offense trying to run out the clock (after the missed fg) vs. being in a do or die situation to get into position to kick a game winning fg (if Coe had made the kick). He's not talking about Cal's play calling.

Poor reading comprehension plus a lack of football knowledge is no way to go through life (on a football message board).

Both head coaches coached like crap yesterday. It was also a sloppy, terrible football game which was poorly officiated. Lucky for us, few were watching as we were the 3rd or 4th best viewing option for casual fans.

You don't think Pitt might have played it a bit differently if they were down one ...

And I think the defense would have stopped them in that do or die situation like they did on the 3rd and long play when Pitt went to pass instead of trying to run out the clock. I assumed you watched until the end unlike ducky who turned the TV off before the field goal attempt.

Just like in the Miami game, we would of gone soft coverage and Pitt would of gotten into field goal range for the win.

I think our defense has been playing great, but our coaches have not done them any favors.

Year after year Wilcox turns interesting matchups into the Chezit Bowl. It is one of the reasons we almost got relegated. It is bad, painful to watch, football. Fortunately others threw us a lifeline, but we have to do some of the pulling. Wilcox has squandered this first opportunity. I really think we need to give next year's opportunity to someone else.

Go back and read Spavital's comments about why he left, after today I cannot judge Bloesch (or any coach on offense) that has to take orders under Wilcox

Those of you missing Spav might have an opportunity soon to hire him back. Baylor is 2-4 and next to last in the Big 12 in offensive statistics.

Baylor is #71 in offense but Cal is #98. Spavital was not good, but Bloesch is worse.

He is in his second year as our O Line coach. You believe he has done a good job? You believe any who have played in the last 2 years showed improvement? You believe any of them will be in the NFL? Why would a good O lineman want to play for him?

And do you believe he called good plays as OC? Today? Last week? This season?
Go back and read Spavital's comments about why he left, after today I cannot judge Bloesch (or any coach on offense) that has to take orders under Wilcox
No question that after 7 1/2 years with only 2 winning seasons (none in conference) and only 1 low level bowl game victory, it's time to part ways with Wilcox who should never have been extended (as a sign of gratitude for allegedly turning down his alma mater!).

If you have an article with Spavital's comments, i'd love to read it because I haven't seen it and cannot find it using google.

Yeah, what are these comments that Spavital made / supposedly made?

Spavital did not say anything negative about Cal directly. He noted that he had been excited to get back to Cal, his family liked it here and he really did not want to disrupt his family again and Cal to Baylor was his first lateral move of his career but what attracted him to Baylor was Aranda would stick to defense and let him be head coach of the offense and everyone on the offensive staff was on the same page. The implication is that was not the case at Cal but he did not say that directly.

Also, I was a Spavital skeptic due to his poor offenses at Texas State, and we were not great last year, but Bloesch in 7 games has proven to be worse.

The OC doesn't matter that much. The problem with Cal's offense is Wilcox.
