He is just what the doctor ordered after a tough day at the Cal office. Currently spanking America's Team. When you give Goff 3-4 seconds protection, he will slice and dice ya!

….and as much as I hate to admit it because I am no Brady fan, he is really growing as a color analyst.

I'm watching Goff vs Dallas and he's playing very well. Got me thinking. We have a qb who can throw the ball, we have 2 or 3 solid running backs, we have a couple of good wide receivers and a great tight end. WHY not just COPY the Lion's offense? Just run their plays! The Lion's really have it going and it seems no one can really slow em down. Just saying.

We don't have the Lions' OL, main difference here.

T hery have the best OL in the entire NFL. They are amazing. Watch them the rest of the game. Their technique and team work is a thing of beauty.

I think Nando stays, he's not a quitter. We'll probably finish 7-5, upper middle of the conference, with a decent bowl.

JG 18 of 25, 315Yds 3TDs.

Tom Brady had a lot of nice things to say about Goff, relating to his experience as a California kid going to the Midwest with a chip on his shoulder.

Goff was pulled with about 9 minutes left, I think:

18/25 315 yds 12.6 AVG. 3 TD

0 INT 153.8 RTG

Good to hear, for sure.

(Maybe it's just me, but when Collingsworth does a Detroit game......I want throw something at the screen)

nice to goff do well

Collinsworth and Greg Papa pronounced him a bust immediately so they emphasize any mistakes Goff makes and minimize anything good he does. They will toss an occasional compliment out like it's a manhole cover.

Collinsworth doing color on a Lions game is like Dan Fouts calling a Raider game.

GO BEARS!!!

Brady is a Jared Goff fan:

Quote:

Brady called the Lions, now 4-1, the best team in the NFC.

And he went out of his way to compliment a fellow Bay Area native who has written a successful second act in the NFL with the Lions. Brady said Goff's response to what was deemed a slap in the face when the Rams traded him to the Lions for Matthew Stafford has been impressive
"I just think that he's really ascended to a great position as a leader of a franchise," Brady said. "Him getting knocked down when he was with the Rams and getting to the Super Bowl and not getting over it . . .

"When they make the trade to send Stafford to L.A., (Goff's) got a little chip on his shoulder. You're kind of a California kid, you grow up in California and go to school at Cal, get drafted by the Rams at No. 1 overall. It's maybe the first time in his football career things really didn't work out.

"Now you get traded to Detroit you go to the Midwest and you've got to figure out how to toughen up."

Brady, who grew up in the San Mateo area and played college ball at Michigan, can relate in some ways to Goff's path. He was the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL draft - 198 picks lower than Goff was selected in 2016.

"I went through a very similar experience. I was a California kid and I went to the Midwest to Michigan," he said. "The fan base in Michigan, they love football and they're supporting Goff the same way I got supported when I was at Michigan. They toughened me up, made me a better player.

"When I see Goff out there, I love the chip on his shoulder. I hope he never loses that because that resilience and determination is so critical to long-term success."

I've already posted, but here to say again, it's great to have Goff and the Lions to cheer on Sundays more than ever these past few weeks.
Bring back bottled beer and cigars at CMS. Should get us back in the Rose Bowl!

Great to see Goff and the Lions crush the Cowboys, but Hutchinson breaking his leg and being out for the season is a huge blow to their Super Bowl hopes.

Thx for the post.

So, Brady is saying he's a Goff fan and he's comparing Goff as following in his footsteps. If I interpreted that right.

It does take the sting off of Sundays a little. One of the team's best defensive players will miss the rest of the season, unfortunately.
