Furd didn't win as much as Louisville gave them the game. 20 yards in penalties with 1 sec left…

5-7 season incoming. Hopefully this is pitiful enough to finally get rid of Wilcox

Where's the money going to come from to buy him out?

Furd now has two better wins than any of Cal's.

Ron Rivera takes the job and defers his payments until after we are clear of Wilcox's contract?

That's one way to look at it, but now I'm thinking the University is already subsidizing the athletic department at 50-60 million per year. What's another 5? Plus there will be the $40 million per year for the stadium from 2032-2052. The stadium will only get emptier next year with that schedule (no Big Game).

20,000 more fans per game with a new coach would pay for that too. Given we have another easy schedule next year it is not out of the realm of possibility if we hire a good coach, certainly by year 2. Obviously we also need to fire Knowlton for that to happen.

Rivera is basically our only hope. No good coach is going to come here without legacy connection.

I did not think about next year that much until now but the home schedule in 2025 is light, SMU will probably come in ranked but other than that: Minnesota, Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, and Texas Southern for OOC...not a lot of pizazz for the fair weather crowd

With a new/good coach, the makings of an easy 10+ win season with hype and building recruiting momentum. With Wilcox, a lot of losses to bad teams in front of a mostly empty stadium.

Looks to me like another 5-7 season at best if Wilcox is still our coach.
