The three offensive hires have all been exciting.

Legit hired 3 people on offense who had a good argument to be qualified for OC hires which is impressive for a potential lame duck coach in Wilcox.

If indications are correct it looks like Cal may hire Oline coach Anea from New Mexico. He would kick that door open.

Losing Mendoza is not **** you wilcox, he did everything he could to keep him. Kid needed to go. **** Fernando and his slimy dad.

Will "Senior Offensive Assistsnt" have one of the limited recruiting slots? Maybe instead of Harsin? I think Rolo is the best recruiter of the bunch with strong Bay Area and Hawaii connects.

Let's hope someone in the AD is guarding the purse strings for a change and makes sure he doesn't give them all multiuser guaranteed contracts to increase the buyout cost if this implodes, and yes, let's hope that they succeed.

Er no, not me. Not all wild swings are good ones, I didn't like him going for 2 after scoring the first TD either. The way this could go bad, if he "goes down swinging" he could take the program down with him.

I wanted him to roll the dice, but with Brennan Marion instead of Bloesch last year.

My second team is Hawaii so my feelings about Rolo are mixed, a lot like Aaron Rodgers. But given this is who we have I'd much rather Rolo and Harsin's roles were swapped and Rolo were recruiting and working with the players with Hardin as an "analyst."

Harsin represents Wilcox's comfort zone.

Rolo is a schematic departure from that, but he is one who "dares greatly" and you need that kind of visionary / out of the box thinking problem solving approach too.

Harsin and Rolo are not strangers, they've crossed paths in the MWC, and Harsin has always gotten the better of Rolo, so there's that.

But Cal could use some Run and Shoot magic. Everyone can use a little of that.


If Justin can just let these guys cook, we could be in a much better place offensively.

The only guy who you could add to the mix for potency is Tony Franklin lol.

Our AD is Jim Knowlton. He's probably home in Colorado Springs but is incompetent otherwise (Hense the 6 year guaranteed extension for Wilcox, AFTER he had already turned down Oregon, allegedly. This is same guy that gave Teri McKeever a big extension AFTER swimmers and their parents tried to report abuse to him. There is no oversight. The inmates are running the asylum. I'm almost certain it will wind up in a huge embarrassment and cost the university a lot of money. Harsin more likely than Rolovich.

But if Wilcox has a fun creative offense for the first time I'll enjoy it while I can. First they are going to have to land some players. Maybe transfers from Utah State that won't go to class and will leave after the season is over? So there would go even our academic values. Fun times ahead in 2025.
