Harsin represents Wilcox's comfort zone.

Rolo is a schematic departure from that, but he is one who "dares greatly" and you need that kind of visionary / out of the box thinking problem solving approach too.

Harsin and Rolo are not strangers, they've crossed paths in the MWC, and Harsin has always gotten the better of Rolo, so there's that.

But Cal could use some Run and Shoot magic. Everyone can use a little of that.

If Justin can just let these guys cook, we could be in a much better place offensively.

The only guy who you could add to the mix for potency is Tony Franklin lol.

Give us some more, killa! How do you think Harsin and Rolo will mesh, in terms of what they put on the field? To what extent are their two systems "meshable"? Will either of them be able to help our O-line, or, for them, is it more about scheming around it?

Its all about recruiting.

Who do you think will be responsible for recruiting? Wilcox and Harsin are known to be bad at recruiting, while Rolo is assigned to scheming

Rolo hiring really opens the door to a Polynesian pipeline. We need this big strong boys in the trenches.

If indications are correct it looks like Cal may hire Oline coach Anea from New Mexico. He would kick that door open.
What the hell!!!! Is Wilcox just being told to step aside and make these changes? Are the big donors saying "F NIL, let's hire some coaches first."? Anyone have a clue?

Healing.
Do you/anyone know what he specifically means by healing? Is it a reference to something I don't know? Or is he suggesting that if he is hired after his firing then the world is a better place? Or that his hiring is vindication or an indication that more of the world thinks like him? I can't make sense of it--and hope it is not the egocentric self-aggrandizing statement it looks to be on the surface. I would hope that he learned something from the last few years, rather than dug in.

Soon Wilcox will announce that RFK Jr is the new team trainer and nutritionist

If that's the case, I would expect fewer dumb penalties as the team IQ rises from EBMUD discontinuing water fluoridation.

Being fired as a FB coach is a uniquely impactful experience. Anyone who's been through it has their own story coming back from that, or the redemption arc so to speak is always a a humbling, cathartic process.

So yes, healing is the correct way to describe it.

Rolo is a solid dude, regardless of politics, which really has no place in this game. He has love for his players and knowledge of the game.

If you are fired and blacklisted from your profession for your political/religious beliefs you are going to believe that the world is in a bad place.

When you get re-hired and are able to pursue your career again you are going to believe that the world is healing.

I'm extremely pro vaccine and disagree with his stance...but let's not pretend that this was a simple or black and white issue.

I would understand if he said that his coming to cal was his personal healing, but he said the world was healing. It's the world part not the healing part that seems really strange and grandiose. I just don't understand what he is saying.

I'm not trying to be political, but confusing your own personal plight or journey with the world's is not normal psychology (and sadly seen in more and more high profile individuals--I'll leave it at that).

If one has learned anything by a trying time the first lesson should be perspective and humility and NOT "I was right the whole time and now that things have gotten better for me it is vindication and THE WORLD has healed and celebrates me." That is next level egocentrism. I am glad he has healed. I hoped a different lesson and perhaps different attitude would have emerged. Not a great first impression. A wrong note like the Fox first team meeting. It has a "uh oh" ring to it.

Politics, which really has no place in this game.
He has love for his players and knowledge of the game.

Maybe that "the world" is, at last, becoming more tolerant and given to acceptance of personal choices and individual freedoms of choice, and willing to let bygones be bygones, within reason?

I didn't mean to blow this up to something bigger than it should be but it just struck me as odd and a potential early red flag of a guy whose personality MIGHT be self-centered and create problems. I hope not. But one is thing for sure, it would never even cross my mind to make a social media post (especially my first social media post) after being hired for a job and saying something like the world is a better place now that I have been hired. It's very odd.
