Back in 1975 we adopted a girl ftom the foster system

Fast forward to today, her sisters grandson is on unlv, jacob de jesus

So this will be the first time ever that i have a connection to a major sports event ,remote as it is

I think rooting for your personal connection's team against the Bears would have been okay.
That your heart was still for Cal speaks to the psychological power of partisanship, no? Like, if a person long ago identifies with one political party, they tend to stick.
