There's so many different ways to criticize Wilcox. But saying that he doesn't develop linebackers isn't one of them.
Buchanan is going from uc davis to getting drafted. You don't think Cade sees that? God of all things to post.
We all want Wilcox gone. Just making **** up about him rather than focusing on his actual flaws doesn't help.
He didn't say that. He said they were mostly Dykes recruits. And he was right. Of the four Cal LB's to have played in the NFL and also played for Wilcox, none of them were recruited by Wilcox. Total games started in the NFL for those 4 players? 20, almost all of which are attributed to Devante Downs and Hardy Nickerson.
The idea that Wilcox is good at getting defensive players into the NFL is preposterous. In 8 years of coaching, 7 guys that played defense under Wilcox have lasted on a roster more than one season. That's not a good record.
Cal's coaches are probably competent enough to get these guys to be the best players they are capable of being, but the real problem with Wilcox is the guys he gets to come mostly don't have enough talent to be NFL players even if they receive the best position coaching in the world.
Goodness. Read carefully what I wrote and what the OPs argument is.
The OP is arguing that Cade (who is already here, already recruited to Cal) should leave because (I'm assuming) the OP believes he has a better chance of making the NFL from a different team
My argument is that Wilcox (if nothing else) DEVELOPS LINEBACKERS well.
I didn't say anything about recruiting talent. I didn't say anything about other defensive positions. All I said was that he develops linebackers well. Go back and read.
I mean, you said it yourself. "Cal's coaches are probably competent enough to get these guys to be the best players they are capable of being"
That's all I'm saying as well.
