The article doesn't even say Mendoza will sign - only that Indiana should sign MendozaFred Bear said:That article doesn't say it's official thoughGrrrrah76 said:

I don't care where he goes, he's no longer a Bear and therefore I no longer care! He had a real opportunity to be a Cal legend and set numerous passing records, he chose to leave, so where he goes from here is of zero importance to me as a Cal fan!

By comparison to other options he was All America level.alarsuel said:
Not really. He isn't (and wasn't) a difference maker. Wildly overrated on this board.

For this Cal team I think the difference between Mendoza and our other QB options are night and day. I have no love lost for him but it's crazy to say that he isn't a difference maker for our offense.
And they get an f so far. New staff, but prices have risen.alarsuel said:StillNoStanfurdium said:alarsuel said:

See, this is the Cal fan problem/thing: Just because the other options are a D+, D-, & F doesn't mean that Mendoza (C+) matters. It's on the staff for not finding anybody worth a damn.

You mean Fernando Mendoza cried on television when Cal reached bowl eligibility and now he enters the transfer portal? lol what a joke

I agree. No problem with guys leaving. Just him putting on that act and then doing it

Mendoza struggles with sideline throws.
They may not open much, but thr Bears are deep in that position, so it is said.HearstMining said:Not as much as his receivers struggle to get open.oski003 said:bearister said:

It's when the Fonz was attempting to jump some sharks from a ramp on waterskis. Ayeee.okaydo said:Grrrrah76 said:

Jumped the gun, not shark.
Jumped the shark essentially means the point at which something great goes bad. So it wouldn't apply to Cal.
Totally, we weren't impacted at all when he was out against SMU.alarsuel said:

Here's all they said about Mendoza, saying nothing about him having committed to Indiana:Grrrrah76 said:

Yes, so "jumped the shark" = taking the off ramp (heh) from normalcy to absurdity. Going from a typical sitcom episode in which "the guys" are having fun on vacation to a scene in which one of the guys, still wearing a leather jacket, is on waterskis and jumping over a shark that pops up out of the waterKoreAmBear said:It's when the Fonz was attempting to jump some sharks from a ramp on waterskis.
