Top 6 Spring Portal Priorities

Last Spring, Cal added nine players including several players expected to be major contributors in 2025 including Jasiah Wagoner‍, TJ Bollers‍, Serigne Tounkara‍, Braden Miller‍ and Kyion Grayes‍ 

The Bears will be looking for more impact players when the portal opens in less than month.  As Spring practice kicks off, here’s our view of where the priorites lie for Cal.

sorry, the bears didn't lose multiple games last season & potentially more in the fall of 2025 because of the need for another corner back or edge defender

It would also help if they remember to center the ball on short kicks. The college hashmarks make chip shots a little bit more difficult.

I would like to see some data regarding what % of P4 teams (could simplify it to ACC teams) have a dedicated ST coach. Because it sounds like a no brainer, but I'm not sure that that many do... and yet many schools don't seem to have special teams that lose them multiple games most every season.

We lost two games in each of the last two season due to poorkicker recruiting. Even Pasternak would bebetter had we paid Bghani Wilcox would have had winning seasons.

It is not the special teams coach - even if we had a full time special teams coach, we would still need a kicking coach - special teams coaches have no idea how to actually kick. Vic is the special teams coordinator, and he is working on kick returns, punt coverage, etc. Not telling the punter how to punt or the kicker how to kick.

We have a kicking coach. They are still missing kicks. That is the problem.
