If you have any friends that like beer, you might get a 3 pack of Pliny the Younger at Russian River Brewery. The last day to get it is April 3. You can drink their Hop Water and have a bite to eat. There will probably a wait to get in their Windsor or Santa Rosa locations.

The best non-alcoholic grape juice is at Navarro Vineyards. Their Gewurztraminer grape juice is my favorite, but the Pinot Noir grape juice isn't bad either. It's a bit farther North, but an enjoyable area to explore.

Are you looking for non alcoholic tasting options or just for something non alcoholic to sip while others wine taste?

Im a huge IPA fan and am sadly on Day #18 of 84 on 0% beer due to some meds Im taking that do a number on the liver.

The best non-alc beers Ive come across are the Sam Adams Hazy and the Heineken 0.

Everything else is a joke.

Including the Athletic.
Tastes like innertube.

ODoul's is easily the worst. Athletic, while not perfect, is way better imho. And no, it will never taste like a real IPA because the lack of alcohol means it's missing some flavor profile you probably like. I haven't had either of the ones you mentioned, but I had Corona NA and damn if it doesn't taste exactly like Corona. Which isn't really saying much, of course, but it's not a hoppy beer so maybe that makes it better? Not sure how widely distributed AleSmiths NA beers are, but you can get them in SD and they are very good. The NA Speedway stout is impressive and the IPA is probably a notch above Athletic. I'm such a lightweight now, I usually have one regular beer and one NA, while drowning my sorrows over more Cal losses.

"Any recommendations for non-alcohol drinkers in Sonoma?"

Yes! Don't go to a winery. Just go to a park or something. No poseur wine snobs to deal with

You might try Pomme Cider, just off the plaza on the west side of Broadway. I believe that they sometimes have non-alcoholic selections...https://www.pommecidershop.com/

In Sonoma, several wineries offer non-alcoholic tasting options, including Hamel Family Wines with "dry tastings" and Kivelstadt Cellars + Winegarten with kombucha on tap and non-alcoholic beer, according to Sonoma County Tourism and Sonoma County Tourism.

Here's a breakdown of wineries with non-alcoholic options in Sonoma:
  • Hamel Family Wines:
Offers "dry tastings" as part of their "Wine Experience" package, featuring a range of dry, non-alcoholic sodas and teas. Visitors can enjoy the winery experience, including the cave and tasting room, without wine.

  • Kivelstadt Cellars + Winegarten:
Provides a nontraditional tasting menu with a variety of wines, including old-vine Sauvignon Blanc, Charbono, and skin-contact orange wines, and offers kombucha on tap and non-alcoholic beer.

  • Sovi Wine Co.:
Focuses on crafting distinctive non-alcoholic wines, offering a range of alcohol-free wine options.

  • Summerland Winery:
Offers a selection of non-alcoholic wines for those seeking alcohol-free options.

  • Starks Restaurant:
Located in Santa Rosa, this steakhouse offers a robust list of non-alcoholic beverages and mocktails crafted using house-made infusions, fresh fruit, and herbs.

  • Lazeaway Club at The Flamingo:
This beachy-themed restaurant inside the Flamingo Resort offers tasty booze-free cocktails.

  • Bolle:
Offers a pleasingly dry sparkling Bolle Blanc de Blancs and Ros, crafted using a double column vacuum distillation technique to remove alcohol, followed by a second fermentation.

I am pretty sure I've tried all the major non-alcoholic beers and I put Sam Adams Hazy #2 and by far #1 is Estrella Galicia. So refreshing. Perfect match with sushi or tapas.

This is a great list. We looked at Kvielstadt for a Welcome Party prior to our son's wedding this June (we live over the hill in Petaluma) and it's got a good all outdoor vibe. The wine there isn't bad .. the downside is that it's outside of town away from the Town Square and most of the other parts of the Town of Sonoma. I've not been to Hamel but their wine is good... We've been to Gunluch Bundschu which is an old winery (over a century old) also outside of downtown Sonoma. Again, good wine with both indoor and outdoor tasting. A very nice setting among the vines and beautiful spot. I've not been to Sovi, Summerland or Bolle.... Starks is a great Steakhouse but up in Santa Rosa as is the Lazeaway at the Flamingo Resort...

If you are speaking primarily of the Town of Sonoma as opposed to Sonoma County, then Kvielstadt and Gunlock Bundschu are your good options that I'm personally familiar with.

As the buyer for beer at our Oakland club, I appreciate the non-alcoholic beer suggestions. I'll have to give these a try. Currently, I'm stocking Weihenstephan Hefe Weissbier as our offering. Need a Lager, so I'll check out Estrella. And adding an IPA wouldn't be a bad idea either. Thanks.

As an aside, my daughter will be in Galicia, Spain in a few weeks after hiking a short portion of the Portugal section of the Camino de Santiago for spring break.

To the OP: Bring bikes! Sonoma & Napa are pretty ideal road riding locations if that's your thing.

PS ... and my distributor offers Estrella. Now that's pretty nice. Thanks again for the suggestion!

If you're OK with alcohol, this is the best beer in the world, quadruple trappist from the real land of beers, Belgium. 11.3% ABV, once the tariffs kick in it will cost around $12 per bottle in the US, if you can find it.

St. Bernardus Abt 12 begs to differ!

Gotta say, Delerium Tremens goes down really well. Especially after a nice bike ride!

Yes, can't complain about the DT or St. Bernardus, and their triple is very good too. So much depth in the Belgian beer offerings.

On your recommendation, I tried the Estrella Galicia.

Great foamy head, some subtle malt taste, but overall highly "watery" and not much in the way of flavor.

I'll stick with the Sam Adams Hazy.
Far more orange peel/citrus flavor.

That having been said, I'm on bottle #3 right now and open to more tasting.

The Estrella is subtle, kind of tastes like a Stella Artiois initially, so it could grow on me. But the "finish" is pretty flat and could be better I think.

Disclaimer: My go to beer when not drinking 0% is Henhouse IPA.

And I will also drink Pliny too, given how fresh it is when it gets delivered to my local Total Wine.
Henhouse used to be super fresh, but then they went away from self-distribution and now use Markstein.

Isn't Stella Artois a fancy name for a 'fancy' beer... and the name translates to "beer with no taste"...

Just yried the Firestone Walker 805.

Similar to Heineken 0 but ever more watery.
Sam Adams Hazy IPA is still my clear favorite.

My fav NAs:
Guinness NA is good
Also, Fieldwork Headliner IPA
Black Butte makes a porter that's decent
On the lighter side, Asahi Dry is pretty good (ironically, made by Peroni in Italy)

Yes, but they also have a NA version - and the NA is truly NA, it's 0 alcohol, not just "less than 0.5%" like most American brewed NAs.

This is my favorite alcohol Beer.
Nothing comes close.

$21.99 for a 12-pack at Total Wine.
Can also find at Safeway, but check the canning date first.

Technically aren't you supposed to spit out the wine after tasting it? If so, then the alcohol content would be largely immaterial, right?
