There was a place off Hegenberger where the Raiders would often be seen and share drinks. For the life of me I can't recall its name now...........anyway, the Raiders were really a part of the community then. You'd see them everywhere in the East Bay.

I followed them to L.A., then back to home in Oakland.

Not doing it again.

I remember as a kid going to/from the Oakland Airport, we'd drive past The Flanker restaurant on Hegenberger, which was supposedly owned by Fred Belitnikoff.

Yes, that is Christian Bale as Al Davis.

And Nicolas Cage as John Madden.

Dewey had a weekly column in the old Oakland Tribune about his restaurant and his passion for the Raiders. Good times!

Went to my first Raider game at Frank Youell Field during the construction of the Coliseum. My brother became a season ticket holder later ..so I got to go to many of the games. I gave up on them after they moved the first time to LA.

There was also the Edgewater Hyatt on Hegenberger, where most of the pro teams coming to play the Raiders, A's and Warriors would stay. And if their teams didn't stay there, a lot of the players would head over there to party. From what I hear, it contributed to the Oakland teams' homefield advantage.

Airline pilots flying into OAK would have to steer flight attendants away from there, lest they lose them to professional athletes that night.

That's it, Big C.....it was the Hyatt!!!

Yeah, the place was legendary for Raider representation. In those days the Raiders were really part of the community. Thank you so much for contributing your knowledge!

And thanks to all who also joined in.
