I believe "that" Lair as you knew it, is gone, it is no more. I haven't been by, but there is supposedly a newer spot nearby, but I know nothing about the new spot, not even what its called.

It's Headlands Brewing. The old old Bear's Lair spot is gone, but this replaces the old new Bear's Lair fronting Bancroft near Zellerbach. Backside has an outdoor space on the plaza. Great beer selection, including Oski's Gold on tap. Haven't tried the food, but don't really care. The bartop has a bunch of little plaques commemorating Cal greats and they've generally done a good job of making it feel Cal. Met the owner before Texas Southern, complimented the space and wished him luck. He handed me a couple of one dollar pint tickets! Hoping it can sustain itself outside of football and basketball game days since I think it will appeal more to alumni than students. I know for me, the old Bear's Lair was about sunshine and very large cheap beers.

Can't say whether they serve Corona.

Whoa the Rexall pharmacy mid block near campus.

I had one of those moments you can't un-see while in that Rexall lol. Some-wheres in the early 90's probably, I was kneeling down to read a few birthday cards. After selecting a card I turned slightly to stand up and right then The Naked guy rounded end of the aisle right next to me. Fortunately, he was wearing a bandana as cover. My friend was cracking up thinking of what had nearly happened lol.

I think we've found our new stadium song!

The Left Banke, good baroque psych tunes from NYC circa late 60s, mostly known for their hit single "Don't walk away Renee". I think the song above, "Ballerina", was the B-side.

One of the main Left Banke talents, Michael Brown, worked with the band Montage after 67, did some very good songs with them, well-crafted polished melodies with great musical arrangements.
