Minnesota seems to be a 2.5 point favorite which makes sense given I think if Cal was at Minnesota the line will be around a touchdown.
An emotional hedge against the bears would be absolutely devastating if we suffered another 1 or 2 pt loss, but I'm thinking money line on the gophers and would gladly take the L to see the Bears earn the W. A big crowd at Memorial really does make a difference, I guess. I thought we'd be 8pt dogs even at home. Hope Memorial is packed and rockin.Joegeo said:

Thanks, that was fun to re-live. Some great players on that team. Tyson Alualu AND Cam Jordan on the D-Line. Best AND Vereen running the rock (with Sofele on ST). The incomparable Syd'Quan at corner, Marvin Jones at WR and JT behind the clipboard. That team went on to win the BG in PA on the back of Shane Vereen's 193 rushing yards and Mikey Mo's game-saving, red zone interception off Andrew Luck. Good times.

Let's enjoy highlights of our last matchup, when Jahvid Best scored 5 TDs.

I was there that day with my then 14-year old son! Was an absolute blast! Their stadium was brand new at the time, which was also cool.
Yep, I was there as well. I had never been to Minneapolis before and found it a lovely city. It also didn't hurt it was during their few months of glorious weather.BerkeleyBAT said:sycasey said:

A great game, but I recall that they had an incredible receiver who I think went into the NFL> Anyone recall his name?

Most of the folks up there really embrace the cold, with ice fishing out on those little mini huts, and cross country skiing, snow shoeing, etc. The whole city is built to survive winter, with the massive mall, nice transit, and tubes connecting most of the buildings. It's kind of an adventure and our family considered living there. But if you don't like the cold, it's basically hell for half of the year, just like Florida and Arizona for the opposite reason. For snowbirds who have the means, it's a pretty nice balance of perfect year-round bliss.

To a point. My first consulting engagement w/ Deloitte was in Minneapolis, in mid-late April. They got a huge snowstorm over the weekend and snow was piled >10 feet high along every road. The locals were very much over it that year at least.
Still, it was pretty impressive how the town was more or less operating as usual. Even half that snow at any point in California... *shudder*

They think Californians are wimps about weather, and they're not wrong.
