Duke will be the best offense we'll face so far so we def need them

Crosbys injury looked pretty bad so I don't expect to see him. Anyone know his diagnosis and how long he might be out for? I didn't get a chance to focus on Polidor Jr against BC. How did he do?

What is McCullochs injury? He is leading our team in sacks.

Or I'm guessing this was probably answered on the insider board so no one will answer here

It was only game 4 so yes

McCulloch is in his third year of college, so absolutely. Crosby is listed as a redshirt senior, so he will probably have to petition for another year.

This is a damned shame. McCulloch was our best edge rusher (and his backup went down, too). Crosby had made great strides since last season.

Next man up: Maybe we need to move an ILB to OLB. And the roster is a little thin at DB, too. Saw #8 Wagoner pursuing Turbo on that long run; he is nowhere near as fast as Crosby. I guess Wagoner has been playing NB, but still.

Masses was out on that play (he went in and then ran back out) and the defense was lost, it was a bizarre sequence and a coaching **** up

Per Calbears.com he led the team in tackles, 5 solo and 1 assist. I guess that's a good sign that he is mentally ready to play.

"Season ending" injuries always jolt me. We forget what a violent game this is and I am hoping for a successful recovery for these two. I also trust their replacements since this is often the case throughout the season.

McCullough is an OLB in name only. He plays on the line of scrimmage 100% of the time with his hand in the dirt on nearly every play. Sometimes they drop him into coverage, but just as a wrinkle. For all intents and purposes he's a D-Line/ EDGE. Off-ball linebackers typically are shorter, have shorter arms, and a completely different skillset than EDGE rushers.

Assuming we can hold onto these Bears and they can fully heal, we're going to return a lot of talent next year. Unfortunately, our schedule will probably be 100% more challenging.

Crosby did some time at a jc, so anything goes.

Defense is getting beat-up without getting into it all. There is some depth at certain positions. Bye week can't come soon enough.

Looks more challenging, but maybe not THAT much more challenging, with UCLA and Clemson (currently 1-3/0-2) down.

That is just shocking and brutal. Thoughts out to those guys...but wow such really bad news. Apart from Cade those might be our two best defenders. Pressure on QB is our biggest weakness and there goes most of our pressure and slot coverage for the quick release valve when there is pressure. Triple ouch!
