I haven't been looking too far ahead in the schedule, but I realized today that Cal @ VT Tech was going to be a friday night game on ESPN. If you are keeping track, these are the games that was/will be on national television this year:

Cal @ Oregon State (7:30pm on ESPN)
Cal vs Minnesota (7:30pm on ESPN)
Cal vs Duke (7:30pm on ESPN)
Cal vs UNC (7:30pm on ESPN Friday)
Cal @ VTech (4:30pm on ESPN Friday)

If we keep winning, I am almost certain that the Cal vs Virginia game will get picked up at 7:30pm on ESPN for that Saturday. Arizona and ASU is on the road and Furd has Pitt and so Cal will almost certainly get picked especially if we and Virginia keep it up.

That means we were featured on ESPN's main channel 5 times already this year (6 for Virginia, and we keep winning more chances against Louisville, SMU, etc). This is ESPN, not ESPN2, not ESPNU, and definitely not the non linear streaming that Kliavkoff tried to shove down our throat 2 years ago.

While I miss our pac 12 foes, I think it's fair to say that we have never had this amount of national exposure EVER in the history of program.

We gotta do something with this unique scenario we find ourselves in! This could be the start of something exciting. Rooting for the boys today. Go bears!

The Pac-12 TV situation sucked, pure and simple. It had sucked for decades, even before Larry Scott. It's been good for all of the former Pac teams to now be in conferences with decent TV deals.

I'm hearing more chatter about Cal on sports talk, podcasts and in the sports media since we joined the ACC than I ever saw in the past. It's been a very positive development and one we must take advantage of.
