One of the annoying things about college football season is that after championship game weekend, there's the Army-Navy Game and the Heisman Ceremony. That's it.

But this year, there will be the Heisman Ceremony followed by the Gronk LA Bowl.

Do people watch the Heisman ceremony?

I always preferred to just look it up after. I'd get all the information I wanted in under a minute.

Seems like there's always an audience for something. I think televising the Heisman ceremony is dumb but there will be at least 2 or 3 fan bases that will tune in. Tbh I think the Heisman is terrible at picking the best players in the country anyway, they tend to be exclusive to the large blue blood universities. I still can't get over how JJ Arrington didn't get an invite for rushing over 2k yards.

Great! Maybe we can watch Mendoza win the Heisman then lose to Tennessee Chattanooga in the bowl game.

There's a ton of East Coast Bias, too. Look at 1975 when Archie Griffin won his second Heisman over Cal's Chuck Muncie.

The betting markets have ruined shows like these - we can all view with high certainty beforehand who is going to win.

That's my attitude about NFL/NBA drafts, as well. I'd rather read about it the next day in 1/10th the time. Of course, then I don't get to see some of the outrageous sartorial selections made by the players - kind of like the Grammies/Oscars in that respect.

Meh.

I think the bigger issue is these non CFB playoff bowls. I get that they exist for background noise at the holidays. But I have to believe that after the last 2-3 years they are increasingly not great sells for sponsorship and local support. I would not be at ALL surprised (vegas will HATE it but it is the right thing) for these increasingly to be played under some informal coaches agreements about using them as glorified scrimmaging and style of play that gets close to the pre-flag football games one would see in the probowl or the senior bowls.
