to be clear, I want to watch JKS as much as I can while he's still here. SMU game is a huge bargain.

furd is 3-7, no one exciting to watch
SMU is 7-3 and could be playing for a conference championship berth.

JKS will be featured on both games.

easy choice for me.

nikey, the stanford athletic dept is using a surge pricing model to profit from cal fans that will likely be storming their home field if the bears prevail realizing that 98% of all new tixs (not stanford season tix holders) will be purchased by cal's active fanbase on gamedays

this wuz also the same case in 2023, there wuz thousands of tixs available on gameday for face value at the stadium tix office

You are unable to understand the economics of rivalry vs a team we've played twice, ever?

Really?

IDGAF what you think is a good value, you are a single individual in the market.

Sounds like you're going to SMU but not Big Game. I'm doing the opposite. Vive la difference!

Because both fan bases in the Big Game are local so demand is almost doubled. The additional demand from SMU fans for our game is practically nothing.

Plus because of the allure of the Big Game, Cal and Stanford fans who don't normally attend games would like to attend that one. The allure is so strong that many fans are willing to pay a massive premium to attend; the same is not true of the SMU game even though they are a much better team than either Cal or Stanford

I don't have any sympathy for people that wait until the last minute to buy Big Game tickets

Heh, that's why I watched The Play at ground level (row 1) from the north end zone. I bought tickets released the morning of the game.

Have tried giving away extras at big games that I paid face and couldn't pay people to take them. Even offered slice of cake and champagne as package and zip. No need to panic …although the digital market has put a crimp in game day scalping?
As a student we purchased extra student passes just for the big game alone for friends and family.
If memory serves (often does not) we got a big game ticket for away big games and a punch pass for home games?

Might have been the reason why the BG was usually overbooked, with people sitting on the isles or looking at the game from above the rim, either because people printed out fake passes or had some gate security people letting them in for a green handshake...
