The problem is that we have no other RBs who are worth a damn.

I know DeJesus had the earlier fumble that lead to the TD, but I'd say put him in as a scatback and use another receiver (preferably one with speed) in the slot.

Wait, when is it okay to fumble? Because you are implying those teams fumble when their coaches are okay with it

And yes there are times where coaches contribute to fumbles (having your backup tight end take a snap etc) but a lot of times fumbling and fumble recovering is random and not scheme based

The problem is that we have no other RBs who are worth a damn.

It's okay that we lost our entire RB room because our low rated RB recruits are perfectly suited for our offense, they said.

Our low rated OL recruits are just so big, they said.

Cal will win tonight because Stanford is awful. The fact that we were behind at half was embarrassing.

Obviously, fumbling is never good, but there are times when it's more tolerable, such as when your team is up by 20 with 1 minute left in the game. A good coach will remind players of the key points to keep in mind for any given situation (especially at the end of halves). In that particular circumstance, one of the keys was: don't fumble.

The only bright spot is that Cal's defense has kept Furd's offense off the scoreboard. Of course, Cal's offense has helped Furd's D to score 2 TDs.

No more gimmick plays. That's how De Jesus ended up coughing up the ball. Go straight slants and smash mouth football. I may be old school but I remember when we had OL like Auzenne and Steussie. We need to just plow the field and have the farm succumb to our will.
