I did not renew last year and took several months away. It was good but ultimately got drawn back in again a la Michael Corleone.

I am getting there. It feels like BI is in a weird place that sometimes feels like journalism and a lot of time a donor unsernet board. The most recent thing where we have essentially the message that "It is Tosh and you will like it"

But I also think that what they are doing (hopefully at least defraying cost) with Rod B. is a great thing. I like that they donate profits back. I think they do a good job pumping up giving when the university/AD is basically still not very good. Decisions decisions.

You can't be serious to equate those two. It is one thing to laude the service the site provides. It is another to claim you aren't a true Cal fan if you don't subscribe.
