I looked at future schedules. I hope we don't schedule them in the future.

If he gets fair market value of $4M from Oregon state

Understood, but it's hard to believe anyone would want him as a head coach--a job in which he has failed miserably.
why would we not want a cupcake win?okaydo said:

Not gonna lie to yall. Oregon state might mess around and go to The CFP after a few years of rebuilding if Wilcox gets this job. The Barriers as a HC at Cal are bigger than you think. https://t.co/FxlPTDeY5W

I think a lot of people aren't into the nitty gritty of the Wilcox experience. They think that Cal is a limiting place and Wilcox exceeded expectations.

LOL. $4 million would be the highest salary for a G6 head coach by far. Top of that market now is about $2.5 million. Oregon State is probably paying $2 million at most.

"Well he beat Minnesota a god team in the big 10, we almost beat Virginia a top 15 team and beat Louisville a top 14 team. All with the rigorous demands and academics at Cal so he's prime beef to most colleges in the nation. Oregon was trying to hire him away and now they want to hire Tosh someone whose not as highly respected at Oregon as Wilcox? Just stupid"."
How does that sound?

Wilcox also went to four times the number of bowl games as his predecessor at Cal, who played in the national championship.

Yeah, but look who he lost to: San Diego State, Virginia Tech, Stanford, and Duke. And we just squeaked by Boston College and North Carolina. 6 teams we should have easily won. There's no way you can candy coat the fact that he was just a very bad head coach.

In my 66 years, Wilcox has the second most wins of any Cal coach. And he did this for an under average salary with a horrible AD and sport's unfriendly administration. OSU would be crazy to not hire him and I think it's a typiCal move to have fired him.
