Ace Herman-Dawson Commits To Bears' Stellar 2027 Class
The Bears made yet another recruiting splash to start the weekend.
Three-star lineman Ace Herman-Dawson, of Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, has committed to Cal’s stellar 2027 class, he told Bear Insider.
From the family atmosphere to the presence of head coach Tosh Lupoi, the 6-foot-5, 318-pound Herman-Dawson is ready to join the Blue and Gold.
“I chose Cal because of the potential upside of this football program,” Herman-Dawson told Bear Insider. “The leadership of Coach Tosh, the energy and experience he has. I want to be a part of history.
“Along with the incredible academics, it wasn’t a hard decision. My player host was (freshman left tackle Daniel Morris), and I’ve clicked with every player I’ve met. There is a strong family connection over here.”
Herman-Dawson considers himself a two-way player who anticipates playing offense at Cal. However, he made his versatility clear.
“For now, it’s leaning towards O-line — getting me out in space because of my athletic abilities,” Herman-Dawson said. “But they are well aware of my D-line capabilities also.”
The Bears made Herman-Dawson an offer on June 14th, according to an X post he shared at the time.
Now, Herman-Dawson becomes the 23rd commit of Cal’s 2027 class.
