As of September 1, 2026, I cannot find an official exact ticket-sales number released by Cal for the CalUCLA game on Saturday, September 5.
What we do know is that the game is very close to a sellout. Cal removed the tarps covering thousands of seats because demand was so strong, and reports say the game is trending toward 60,000+ fans, potentially Cal's largest home crowd in more than a decade.
A Cal-focused report also says the student allotment has sold out and that only a small number of tickets remained at the time of reporting. Tickets are still available through Cal and resale sites today, so it does not appear to be officially sold out yet.
So my best estimate from the available information is roughly 55,00060,000+ tickets distributed/sold, with the final crowd potentially exceeding 60,000.
If you'd like, I can also check how many seats appear to be left right now and in which sections, which would let us make a tighter estimate of the number already sold.

There are still a lot of seats available on Seat Geek but that doesn't mean you are wrong.

It wouldn't. It takes a few of our speculative posts here, a few of the "articles" that are based on our speculative posts, and regurgitates it back.

In short, nobody knows.

It will sell out then. There should be a good turnout of UCLA people, 7k-9k, and 50k+ Cal fans.

Turnout looks bigger than for the average UCLA home game, you have to go back to 2010 for a similar attendance.

"The official attendance figures for the last 10 UCLA football games played at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley span from 2002 to 2022:

Date
Attendance
Final Score

November 25, 2022
36,221
UCLA 35, Cal 28

October 13, 2018
45,889
UCLA 37, Cal 7

November 26, 2016
39,633
Cal 36, UCLA 10

October 18, 2014
49,257
UCLA 36, Cal 34

October 6, 2012
57,643
Cal 43, UCLA 17

October 9, 2010
61,664
Cal 35, UCLA 7

October 25, 2008

Early 80's. Joe Kapp. I seem to remember thinking I needed to hustle down to the ATO to get mine - else they sell out before I got around to it. That was new. And probably short-lived.

The game is a sell out with the number of tickets remaining falling below the expected final 24 hour sales.

Sorry, just trying to be factually correct. Hope it will be a sellout by tomorrow evening.

what they are trying to tell you is that in the accepted nomenclature of sports marketing, when there are a few tickets remaining to be sold on game day, the ticket sellers are not expected to call headquarters every time they sell 4 more tickets. A sellout is what the AD says it is. Ya know, sorta like "the law is what the judge says it is." That's how the term "sell out" is defined.

Let's stop worrying this to death! It's an absolutely beautiful morning in the North Bay and will be at 7:30 tonight at California Memorial Stadium. The place will be rocking and a perfect night to watch some college football. Get there, get there early and cheer on our Golden Bears!
