Big time. They're getting absolutely demolished by Miami. 28-3 near halftime.

5:13 left in the 3rd, 42 to 6 Miami. Stanford's pass D is pathetic but their run D is OK (i"ve only seen the 2nd half). Stanford got a bad ruling on the punt. They should have had the ball on their 8 yard line but it would not make a difference.

ust got back from the game. My main takeaway is Miami, especially on offense, is loaded with talent and well coached. Their quarterback made all the throws, didn't wince from pressure, and is mobile enough. He will be a first round pick. Toney is just sensational, and was the best skill player on the field. He had something like 240 yards in receptions, with a large part of that YAC. Furd's defense is physical, but slow. They have very limited depth, as was evidenced by their 4th quarter problems with Hawaii. Miami would have scored in the 60s if they had not take out their starters including their QB, for essentially the entire 4th quarter.

Furd's offense was able to move the ball due to their QB's mobility and accurate passing, but could never do much in the red zone, prmailry because they had an overwhelmed o-line. Warren is a major improvement over whoever was the QB for Furd in the last few years. He would have had much better numbers if the fund WRs actually hadn't dropped so many passes. He is a legit P4 quarterback (which he showed at Michigan when healthy. I didnt; see anyone on the Stanford team I would call a game changer, but they gave good frosh WRs for froshies.

Miami's special teams also outclassed those of Furd.

No evidence so far Furd has improved over last year.

Furd looked bad but also Miami might be a legitimate national championship team, hard to say so far.

Unpopular opinion: Stanford deserves a mulligan on this one. Miami is a legit national championship contender with a Heisman Trophy candidate at receiver. That's a pretty darn good football team in Coral Gables.
