Posted this on the premium board yesterday but forgot to post here as well. It shows completion %, EPA per attempt, success rate, yards per attempt and more broken down by areas of the field (left, middle, right and different depths - at or behind LOS, 0-4 yards, 5-9 yards, 10-19, 20-29, and 30+). You can filter by game, down, quarter, yards to go, and field position. It has this year and last year's data in there.

CFB stats, the service I used only did air yards tracking starting at the VaTech game last year, so I had to use the NCAA game log data for the first part of the season, so there are a few weird data things but overall I think it's pretty good. And they didn't track throw direction for INTs so the 2025 interceptions aren't on there, but I manually added the 2026 ones.

Nice work, thanks!

In these first two games, JKS is obviously missing his favorite target and safety valve from last year....wide receiver, Jacob De Jesus.

Damn, that's a solid presentation there and that its sortable is also cool. I for one hope you continue to add the data from games each week. Will be cool to see the progressions over time.

Thanks for your effort!

Very nicely done.

I have an off-topic question for you. Did you use Claude to make this? The styles look very similar to something I had Claude Sonnet 4.5 make for me a couple of months back.

Yeah, used it for the design stuff because I was feeling lazy. Lol

Good job ac_green33. As HairOfTheBear said, I hope you will continue to update the chart as the season progresses.

With the caution that sample size is small, some things stand out quickly:

JKS and/or Somerville heavily favor the left side. 52% of all attempts went to the left. Efficiency was similar on either side of the field (5.6 yards/attempt passing left, 4.8 right).

Only 15% of attempts went over the middle and efficiency was much higher at 10.6 yards/attempt.

We are extremely inefficient in very short range pass attempts. Passes with average target depth of < 5 yards averaged just 2.1 yard per attempt. These targets accounted for 43% of all passes.

By contrast, our deep passing is highly efficient, averaging 19 yards/attempt while consuming 15% of pass attempts.

These simple observations don't take into account important context, like field position, down and distance, or the possibility that the efficiencies seen at particular directions/distances are structurally linked. For instance, we throw a lot of very short range passes for painfully small gains while our deep passes are smashing, but it may be that if we attempted to reduce the former attempts to increase the latter, the efficiency on those deep throws might severely decline because defenses might back off (though this might increase efficiency of our short range passing). There's also no way to track the relationship between sacks/scrambles and play design from this data.

I honestly thought left side would be higher what with JKS being a lefty and sort pre disposed to throwing left. I use my own experience as pretty terrible lefty qb from high school lol. I was always looking left or running for my life to the left and throwing that direction.
