I should note that the 2 ranked teams UCLA beat in 2005 finished the season ranked.

The only ranked team Chesney beat is currently unranked.

They also beat the Berkeley Bears who had been a dark horse to win the ACC.

Find me a Bruins fan who GAF about Karl Dorrell.

That 2005 team gave up 34 points per game. It was a horribly weak team defensively that was lucky to win ten.

The Bruins this year are giving up 15 points per game.

Tosh wasn't a serious candidate for any other program. But in typiCAL fashion, we made sure our coveted candidate was ours ASAP. Much like how we extended Wilcox on rumors of interest from other schools.

Chesney wasn't coming here- better conference, better money, 6 million vs 4 million, more upside

Cal hiring checklist:

--Did he work for Jeff Tedford in a defensive capacity? Check.
--Did he have no head coaching experience? Check.
--Did he work for major name-brand college football teams? Check.
--Was he the only option? Check.

"--Was he the only option? Check."

Pretty much. No serious coach would walk into a hopeless financial situation.
