....with his girlfriend, Keilani Moeaki, who plays on the women's basketball team at BYU. She was kicked out of school too. The rumor is that she got pregnant.

Harvey is BYU's all-time leading rusher in only three years. It looks like Harvey is going to enter the NFL's supplemental draft.

I just really don't know what to say about this. I guess "unfortunate" is the only adjective that comes to mind. But, it's looks to be a greater loss for BYU than for Harvey.

Do players play better when they're getting laid or when they aren't?

When you enroll @ BYU, whether or not you are LDS (Mormon)---I am not---you agree to abide by rules that are consistent with Church scriptures. No drinking is one and so is being chaste, though I am reminded by friends that these rules are frequently broken by some, but not openly.

Three of my five Sisters attended BYU, as did two of my four brothers. The rest of us went to Cal, tOSu, UO, and UCSB. Two Sisters married Men they met @ "the Y". My brothers met their spouses later.

I digress.

Apparently RB Harvey and his Friend's situation became an open issue in conflict with the code.

So every BYU recruit knows this and agrees to it? What are they smoking? Oh wait, I guess they aren't smoking anything.

Same thing with smoking, alcohol, and drugs. Yes, they agree---members of the Church or not.

When you get recruited there, as I was, they show you a "code of conduct" that you must follow. This includes hair length and not wearing jeans to class (in addition to the drinking, drugs and sex). I think they choose when and how they enforce them...Jim McMahon's behavior comes to mind.

I can't think of a dumber reason for a college team to lose a valuable player

Here's an interesting article in National Geographic about just that:
Should Athletes Abstain?

"After three months without sex, which is not so uncommon for some athletes, testosterone dramatically drops to levels close to children's levels"

Also, in US Olympic villages, literally 100,000 condoms are distributed each time the athletes get together. And they seem to perform pretty well...

IMO, BYU is only hurting itself.

~Greg

"...seem to perform pretty well..."

The athletes or the condoms? And do they perform pretty well? Or "prettay, prettay, prettay well...pretty well"?

Crap that is a big family. Five sisters, four brothers, and you.

How many mothers did you have? (Just kidding)

I'm pretty sure they would both still be at BYU. I mean, makes perfect sense. Get pregnant and you're outta here! So much for supporting your brothers and sisters. Is Coca-Cola still banned?

No worry---two Mothers---one Catholic and one LDS.

And three Sisters have big families, too. :bear:

BYU apparently wants to send a message: Get the girl to get an abortion or else!
