Cardinal Newman Cal OL/DL Offeree Eazy Crichton Earns DL MVP at Rivals CCSF Elite Camp
The Bears extended an offer to one of the top local players on Saturday, officially offering massive 2028 Cardinal Newman OL/DL Eazy Crichton.
Unlike virtually all of the prospects Crichton is competing with for recruiting attention, the 6-4/400 Aussie has never played a down of American football, though the potential he displays with how nimbly and powerfully Crichton displays on the field earned him not only a Cal offer but offers from Washington, UCLA, SMU and several other Power-4 programs.
“I really mess with the Cal staff heavy,” Crichton said after the offer. “They keep it real and I can tell they really care about developing their players and building something strong over there.
“I’m looking for a program that is going to push me every day and help me get to the next level because I am trying to come in and make an impact, not just be another player.
“I’m planning to take an official visit to Cal for sure and right now I am still keeping my options open and learning about different programs but Cal is definitely one of the top schools for me.”
Like 2027 Cardinal Newman OL/DL Cal offeree Josh Bunni, Crichton made an offseason move from Australia to Santa Rosa, joining the big 6-6/330 Aussie in what will be a massive Cardinal Newman offensive and defensive front.
Both showed well in Sunday’s Rivals Elite Camp as CCSF, with Bunni dominating 1x1s on the offensive side and Crichton wreaking havoc on the defensive side, winning DL MVP with his virtually unblockable performance Sunday.
So far, his adjustment to a new country and a new game has gone smoothly for the big Aussie and he appreciates the opportunity to chart a new course for his life.
“I came to the U.S. for better opportunities in football and school and Cardinal Newman has been helping me grow a lot since I got here,” Crichton said. “I’m originally from Australia so the move has been big for me and helped me mature.”
The future is bright for the new American footballer and Cal fans can only hope that his future will be clothed in blue and gold.
