JJ Arrington - waived by Philly Eagles this year and hasn't caught on w/ a team
Justin Forsett - Seattle Seahawks
Marshawn Lynch - Seattle Seahawks
Jahvid Best - Detroit Lions
Adimchinobe Echemandu - Oakland Raiders

Vereen will be there either this year or next, but i didn't count him yet

essentially every primary back Tedford has ever had at Cal has been drafted, don't know how your argument holds much water there BB. only USC can match the 4 active players we have right now at RB

some day if I have time I'll count the total number, the Wikipedia has it at about 40

If you are going to count Echemandu and Arrington, then I'm going to count Jeremiah Johnson - and you'll have 1 more RB in the league *today* then us. Bravo.

Chip Kelly is the real reason Oregon has turned into a rushing powerhouse, and he's only had 4 seasons to recruit/produce RBs. Hell only LGB and LMJ are his guys (Morris, Johnson, Stewart - all pretty much from before CK's time.) LMJ will leave Oregon as the greatest Duck RB of all time, statistically speaking, so it will be interesting to see where things go with more of CK's recruits at the position.

I don't understand this 'hater' mentality towards BB. Who cares why he's here? He's insightful, respectful, and provides a unique perspective from a rival school. Of course he has differing opinions from time-to-time due to his Oregon allegiance but he is also quite fair when addressing often unfair/false comments regarding the Oregon football program. I for one am happy to have him -- and others like the ASU guy who used to post here -- on this site.

I'm waiting for ASU guy to come back with more pictures of the ASU student body that we all have come to love and enjoy...

well i wasn't technically counting JJ but ok, ill give you Johnson if you want. Cal still has more RB than any other college, i wasn't lying. and yes, i was counting McKnight for USC - Bush, White, Mcknight and Johnson. should i not be counting him? he is on the roster as an active back...

i agree that Chip Kelly's system is the reason your backs put up such high numbers, he is an offensive genius at the college level. whether any of that translates to the NFL is questionable, but LMJ is a beast and should be a pretty high pick.

Justin Hopkins' (Oregon guy) twitter: "Look for Cal to stay hot with Avery Walls tomorrow, and Jason Gibson in the near future."

And this from JOX Recruiting (out of Alabama): "Four-star safety Avery Walls from McDonough (Ga.) announcing tomorrow between Cal, Oregon, and Michigan. Cal the favorite."

Sorry, that was a joke. Kinda like McKnight.

Maybe statistically, but I'd take Stewart over LMJ any day, particularly in the pros.
Quoted for truth, although I'd say I'd rather have him in college or the pros. I shudder to think what he could have accomplished in the current UO offense. The only slight caveat is that LMJ seems to stay healthier than JS did.

Well sorta... I just don't appreciate the argument that Cal is *more* "family-like" and that coaches are *more* "real" with their players etc...

We Oregon fans read the same quotes from our targets/commits referring to our program, so it's kind of silly to argue that one school offers "X" and another doesn't, when it comes to talking about things like "family atmosphere."

Hey, BB - I think that Cal fans are making the argument from the perspective that, based on comments we hear, the Cal staff is much more integrated in the overall life of the student-athletes, with the academic gameplan, etc. and are really selling to parents that they're mentoring and molding their sons as football players, students, professionals, and citizens. There seems to be a lot of focus on the other non-football aspects to the "family atmosphere" that recruit parents cite when discussing Cal.

Now, I'm not saying I agree with this or that it is the case, but I think that's the general feeling among Cal fans and the genesis of the comments that rubbed you the wrong way. I would be interested in haring your take on that, and to know if Oregon recruits' parents pretty universally and consistently comment on all the non-football aspects of attending your university like the seem to at Cal.
