Herbstreit is probably my favorite ESPN analyst. Fair in regards to his treatment of the Pac-10, unbiased in regards to his alma mater, and doesn't have a ****-on for the SEC. Too bad his fellow OSU alumni don't recognize the value he represents.

Thanks for the link. Wow, the vocal minority must be brutal on his family. More reason to want Tressel to go down in flames. It would KILL that vocal minority. That would be enjoyable.

Glenn Dickey must thanking his lucky stars CAL fans aren't THAT rabid (and the stalky type).

He's probably making more than a $$$ million a year in wages from ESPN and other jobs. He probably got tired of paying the 6% Ohio state income tax, Tennessee has none. There are closer states than Tennessee to Ohio to move to. I am surprised he didn't move to Florida like everyone else which also has no state income tax plus better weather.

This is why I want to laugh at how some folks get so upset about how some on this board treat JT after a loss or a rough season. I am not saying JT does not take his share of criticism, but it pales compared to most places. Herbstreit is a former Buckeye and felt the need to move as his family had to listen to the constant noise from a very vocal minority of fans.

The fan bases of most major college teams are beyond passionate. Cal is very passive compared to many. The Pac 10 in general is very subdued. The Big 10 and SEC have perhaps the most passionate fans around. Herbie may only hear from about 5% of the fans but a whole lot more are not happy that he says anything that shines any negative light on the program. To them he is a traitor. Let anybody else say it, but not one of your own.

Better weather? I've never experienced Nashville's weather but I have been to Florida and it wouldn't suit my taste, which runs to more moderate climes than the high humidity sweatbox that is most of the state for much of the year. I realize a lot of people equate good weather with sun but any climate that fosters an abundance of creepy-crawlies and flying biters is pretty low on my scale. And who needs an annual hurricane season of 60 days +/-?
