In times like these, some levity is needed:

It's no longer about you and her. It is about the baby whom you have created and now will be helpless without parents upon which it must depend. For the next 17 years, at least.

You may as well verbally commit now.

My girl wants a son, and I do to. All of the men in her family are 6'6 and up. If I have a son football and basketball is likely.

If I have a son, I would hope he would commit to Cal. I guarantee you he would be a big Golden Bear fan.

Congratulations CalBearsWinNC. Being a parent is a heckuva ride, and I would not trade the experience for any amount of material wealth.

To this day the biggest thrill of life was being present for the birth of my first son. (Yes, it beats out first sex, graduating from Cal, '82 Big Game, etc.)

Agreed, and it will.

Agreed, though to be fair, it was the only one of the ones you listed I was completely sober for (though incredibly sleep deprived).

Went to her doctor today and found out she is 7 weeks pregnant! The surprises continue, but all signs point to a healthy fetus. That news was the best news, I have heard in my life.:bravo

I never saw myself as a father until last week. It is amazing how quickly you care less about yourself and more about your unborn kid.

I agree fully with the sentiments expressed above (particularly Rushinbear's request that you "make an honest woman of her"), but I'm starting to feel like this thread is becoming the equivalent of a chick flick.

Incidentally, CBWNC, I trust you are planning to name the kid either: (1) Jeff; (2) Cal; (3) Oski; (4) Villiami; or, thinking positively, (5) Shaq.

I have no idea what I will name my kid, but I agree this thread has become the fairytale ending thread. I have a great relationship with my girl. When it is the right time, I will make a decision then.
