Obviously, the bears' recent "schizophrenia" has been thoroughly discussed. They play well at home and tank on the road. Many think this is because they were one of the few teams in the country that practiced in their home stadium, creating a sort of "home schooler syndrome." By that I mean, they were like the home schooled kid who flourishes in the secure, comfortable environment created by his parents, but loses all confidence in any change of setting.
Seems to me, this could work the other way now that the team has been forced to become nomads, i.e. busing around to different high school fields, using temporary facilities, getting used to new digs at AT&T, etc. Couldn't this foster a sort of "circle the wagons, team matters, we'll-play-anywhere-just-give-us-a-ball-and-a-field" mentality? It may be wishful thinking, but I guess we'll see in a few months... Would love to see an overall improved confidence level this fall.
