I take umbrage at this. While their are a great many humble Fresno State grads, the there are numerous alums in Fresno who use prominent (as opposed to subtle or tasteful) displays of Fresno State paraphernalia to advertise their membership in that esteemed club. This in a town where the vast majority of people do not have a bachelor's degree. Let us take this to a unbiased judge and let them determine who is more elitist.

Also, I'm sure they have nicknames for Cal alums, or will be generating some once the tailgating begins.

We have snide names for the Furd, South Central, and FUCLA (I prefer UGLY) too. We don't have any for Oregon State (that I am aware of).

So you're saying they're the ones that are elitist because they prominently display FSU paraphernalia, have fewer bachelor's degrees per capita and surely have their own nicknames for us. Did I get that right?

True enough. Though you would have to admit that our insults toward those other schools are more frequently of the "you are a douche" variety. Our insults toward FSU seem to be more frequently of the "we are upper class and you're not" variety.

Insults are insults. Some of us go hard at U$C implying that they are academically inferior. That is pretty bad if you think about it. It is more personal than saying that one's town sucks.

I remember attending a Sac State - UC Davis game. It's called the Causeway Classic. It's a yearly event; a big deal in Sac.

I was on the Sac State side of the stadium with some of my friends. The entire Davis side of the stadium started chanting

"THAT'S ALRIGHT, THAT'S OK, YOU CAN WORK FOR US ONE DAY!!!"

The Sac State side had no comeback. It pissed me off. I thought it was so wrong. What little back and forth that has gone on between the FSU and Cal is minor-league stuff compared to that.

And besides, the Fresno State guys will get their revenge. I'm sure that at least one Cal fan will be punked or beaten up by a Fresno State fan at Candlestick. Especially if Cal wins!
