Last year after the Nevada game, I ran into a young alum in the hotel elevator who looked emotionally drained. We spoke a bit and he told me that his personal away game record was something like 0-10 or 0-11. I also haven't been to a Bear victory on the road other than at Stanford.

My record is:

W 2003 @Stanford
L 2004 @USC
W 2005 @Stanford
L 2006 @Tennessee
L 2007 @Stanford
L 2009 @Oregon
L 2010 @Nevada
L 2010 @Oregon State

If you take out the games at Stanford, I'm 0-5. I'll be leaving for Seattle later this week and hope to see the Bears come back 4-0. I'm counting on this to be my first W on the road. And if not, I could always hit the UCLA game later this year. hahaha

Too many to count my exact record but I've seen a few good non-Big Game, non-bowl road wins. I've seen us beat UCLA a few times and even USC in 1996. I was at Oregon 2007 as well.

Then again, I was also at Oregon 2009 so it's not like I'm a good luck charm. I was also at USC 2010 so I've seen about as bad as it gets.

2010 Reno and UofA last year, both losses
2009, an ugly loss to Udub, and Utah loss, and 2009 Furd victory (which really isn't a travel game since I was in our Furd seats)
2008 Maryland and Arizona losses, Miami victory at AT&T
2007 ASU loss, Furd loss (again in Furd seats)
2006 Tennessee loss and Texas A&M victory
2005 UCLA loss, Furd victoy (stopped going to local LA games becuase venues and seat locations suck)
2004 SC loss (heartbreak), Texas Tech loss
2003 Furd win, VT win (great game)
2002 UCLA win

Before that I had not seen an away game in decades.

If you take away Tedford's first year and 2002, and Furd games, I am 2 wins and 11 losses.

Big Games at Stanfurd shouldn't count as "away games".

But what about bowl games?
ranchbear
How long do you want to ignore this user?
4-0 outside of CA. Wins @ Illinois (2003?), @ Insight Bowl, @ Oregon (2006), @ Minnesota (2009).

Inside CA, not so good, but shockingly high win rate at Furd (1 loss I think).

Worst personally viewed loss by far was the SC 1994/5 60-something to 3, burn Pat Barnes redshirt, drunk students vomit in stands, fight with LAPD embarrassment.

Is it too late for me to book a UW trip? We may need it...

Don't remember how many Big Games I went to exactly ... without thinking long about it. BUT .... I have losses at Arizona (2), ASU, U$C (2), Ucla (2), SDSU, Holiday Bowl, Nevada, and some wins at Stanfurd.

BUT I also have a HUGE win at the Citrus Bowl ... I will be going to fucla this year to get this record improved.

There was a similar thread last year....I found my post, but sadly had to add another loss since I went to the SC game last year. I included bowl games also; not sure if I should count the neutral site Candlestick game.

7 and 15, if you include Big Games, 2 and 7 if you don't:

1-3 @ UCLA
0-2 @ USC
0-1 @ Boston College
0-1 @ Nevada
1-0 @ Colorado
5-8 @ Stanford

Until we beat UCLA at the Rose Bowl in 2009, I had never seen Cal win a game outside the Bay Area.

Our road trip record is pretty good (11-10-1). Some ugly defeats in there (like that first trip to $C). Some great wins - such as Stanfurd in 2009 and the Insight bowl.

Yeah, it's been bad, but not too far out of line with Cal's overall road record over the last 15 years, so I'm pretty sure my attendance has no bearing over whether we win or lose a road game.

would include USC/Ucla? If so, I am not good over the years.. Also, 2-2 vs Oregon schools, 1-1 vs Arizona schools, 0-1 Tennessee, 1-0 So Miss, 0-1 Maryland, better than 50% at bowl games and winning % at Stanford. My wife? Undefeated at CMS..always try to take her to home games..

My record is probably something like 10 and 25 overall. Pretty crappy. They get you to do that by suckering you in with a few good wins.

My favorite was UW in 2002. Awesome game. Not too many Cal fans had the courage to travel to UW considering the streak. Only the true faithful got to see that joyous event.
