I really hope we don't have to move the game there.

Sunday's against Dallas, if I read Nevius's column correctly.

Whaaatt? That game was played last Sunday and there were supposedly as many Dallas fans there as 'Niner fans. Not sure I understand the point of this post, as relates to Cal.

Because if the SC game is moved there, 49er fans will come out of the bushes and rape and pillage us. That is, unless the Cal fan that decked the Fresno fan is there to protect us.

Thanks. That cleared things up for me.

Well, I meant last Sunday's game against Dallas. Is there another game against Dallas this coming Sunday?

You did know, don't you, that until the Giants are eliminated from the MLB playoffs, there's a possibility that the USC and the Utah games might have to be moved to a different venue? Such as the Coliseum or, *gasp* Candlestick? Hence the interest to this board.

Ah -- I see. I guess we shouldn't root for the S.F. Giants then.

“Apparently, the argument started because the victim was standing behind the suspects’ vehicle and not allowing them to back out. Words were exchanged then the suspects got out of the car and assaulted the victim. One of the suspects hit the victim several times in the head with a flashlight while another smashed a bottle over his head. The third suspect brandished a knife. A friend of the victim tried to step in and got punched in the head by the first suspect. A security guard, who witnessed the incident attempted to get involved as well and was also attacked by two of the suspects who punched him several times.”

It looks like the victim who blocked the vehicle from backing out "messed with the wrong bull." My guess is that henceforth he will move out of the way upon request to let a vehicle pass. Lack of common courtesy can result in death these days. The assault was not justified. I am just stating how it is. Being polite and keeping a low profile is a healthy practice.

Smashing a bottle over someone's head is a tad more impolite than blocking a car from backing out...

Anyway, this is totally irrelevant to our potential games there, because those types of 9er hoodlums don't care at all about Cal football. Candlestick for USC wouldn't be such a bad thing because many more tickets will be available, at a cheaper price.

What part of "The assault was not justified. I am just stating how it is." did you not understand? I don't consider it a "who engaged in the most offensive conduct" contest. The victim may well have hailed from the 'burbs where blocking someone's exit is a cool way to flex your macho. It has more severe consequences when you pull that crap on someone who may not have grown up with a silver spoon in their mouth.

Honestly this is all pretty theoretical. First, after last night's game in LA (SANDOVAL!!!!!), I will wager any amount of money we will not be seeing the Giants in the post season. Second, were a miracle to occur and the Diamondbacks, Braves and Cardinals all decide that they were going to forfeit the rest of their games in order to focus on the cosmic implications of last week's supernova, Cal is going to the Coliseum for the USC and Utah games. Have been told by those who should know that the Stick isn't even a possibility.
