What's the latest? The women were supposed to move in this month and its nearing the end of September. How about an update? When's the Big Opening celebration?

Received an invitation from the chancellor and SB to a ribbon cutting, and tour, on 10/12.

Thanks, mama. Is it an invitation only event?

The "Grand Opening" will be in February according to the head of the High Performance dept..they may have tours then..He said he hadn't heard of any other opportunities to take a tour in it..It sounded like with the security in the building it makes it tough to allow tours.

As all of you know, this is an active construction site. Tours are not practical, not only for safety, but logistics. This initial event is (mainly) for those early donors who supported the SAHP concept.

If no tour and its invitation only, what about women's teams and Olympic sports moving in? Is that currently in the works?

I'm pretty sure we were told last night that olympic sports will be moving in in a few weeks--some time in October, but football will wait until after the season. Some of the labs or offices won't really be up and running for maybe a year or so or as funds permit..The Englilsh gentleman who I believe is head of the High Performance dept. ( I forget his name :-( ) spoke to the Sac Grid club last night and was really informative.

We will get a tour at the ribbon cutting, wearing closed toe shoes and long pants ;-)

The High Performance Director is Keith Power.

Moving in as work progresses.
